Chapter 2 "Universities seeing a Gender Gap in Enrollments"

We live in a society where our generation came in believing that with a college degree, came a stable job and a stable income. It has been made clear that if you don’t get good grades and attend a four-year college, the rest of your life will be a dismal failure. Unfortunately like Rodriguez states in his article “It’s a trend that continues to grow -more women are attending to college after high school, but fewer men are enrolling" I believe this is due to how students are being raise. Most of my male cousins decided to go to the marines because they thought college was meant for weak people and they need something that would prepare them not only for their future but life in general. Most of them were raise with the idea that men should be strong no matter what and should never give up I guess that's why they think college would be a waste a time for them. In other occasions students don't have the opportunity to attend to college even if they really want to due to family problems or can’t afford to attend to college. A friend of mine from high school couldn't attend to college do to his emigration status and had no financial aid help. Some students might just think they struggle too much in high school that college is not be for them or don’t want to feel stress out. These are some of the many reasons men don’t attend to college.
